MT NAHRO Elects Sam Oliver as President

MISSOULA – Tuesday, December 30, 2025 – The Montana Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (MT NAHRO) has announced the election of Sam Oliver as its new President. Oliver currently serves as Executive Director of the Missoula Housing Authority (MHA) and will lead MT NAHRO alongside newly elected Executive Board members Cheryl Cohen, Division Administrator of the Montana Department of Commerce’s Housing Division, as Vice President, and Revonda Stordahl, Executive Director of the Public Housing Authority of Butte, as Secretary-Treasurer. Their terms will run through September 30, 2027.

MT NAHRO is dedicated to advancing housing and community development across Montana. It serves as an advocate for adequate housing for all residents and fosters strong communities through collaborative development, preservation, rehabilitation, and redevelopment initiatives.

“The importance of MT NAHRO is the fact that we are better working together,” said Michael O’Neil, Executive Director of Helena Housing Authority and past MT NAHRO President. “MT NAHRO allows us to learn from one another, sharing information of mutual interest, and amplifying our voices in advocacy to better address the housing needs of Montana.”

As Executive Director of MHA, Oliver oversees day-to-day operations for more than 1,100 affordable homes and 1,138 housing vouchers, serving approximately 4,500 households in Missoula. Prior to his appointment in January 2023, Oliver spent over a decade as Project Manager for Bristlecone Development, MHA’s development and construction arm.
