Missoula Housing Authority receives $1,176,555 from HUD

MISSOULA, MT (February 26, 2024) Missoula Housing Authority (MHA) has been awarded $1,176,555 to help people experiencing homelessness. MHA is one of 23 organizations in Montana to receive a grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) $3.2 billion in Continuum of Care (CoC) Competition Awards. These awards are to help individuals and families experiencing homelessness move into permanent housing.

MHA will use the grant to continue funding Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) programs in the Missoula area. Permanent Supportive Housing combines affordable housing assistance with voluntary support services to address the needs of chronically homeless people. The services are designed to build independent living and tenancy skills and connect people with community-based health care, treatment, and employment services.

The grant runs from May through April. The Missoula Housing Authority reapplies annually to HUD for this program.
