Drop In and Apply: Introducing Application Open Houses at MHA
Starting this month, applying for housing with the Missoula Housing Authority just got easier. We're launching Application Open Houses at our main office — regular, no-appointment-needed drop-in hours where any household can come complete an application for one of our nonsubsidized housing options.
No phone calls. No scheduling back and forth. Just come by during open hours and we'll help you apply on the spot.
When to Come By
We're offering two options each month, so you can pick whichever fits your schedule:
• Every other Wednesday, 6:00–8:00 PM — first session July 8, 2026
• Every 2nd Saturday, Noon–4:00 PM — first session July 11, 2026
What to Bring
Having these on hand will help your application move quickly:
• Proof of identity — a photo ID, birth certificate, or certificate of live birth
• Proof of Social Security number — a Social Security card or DD214
• Proof of any income — a recent award letter or pay stubs
• Three character references who are not relatives (start thinking now about who you'd list!)
Don't have everything on the list? That's genuinely okay. Come in anyway — our staff will help you troubleshoot alternatives or set a deadline to turn in whatever's missing.
