Missoula Housing Authority has other ways of providing affordable rental housing.  Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) is a popular program for building apartments that is funded by attracting private investors using tax credits offered by the federal government. The Missoula Housing Authority or an affiliate is engaged in multiple tax credit housing projects around Missoula. Russell Square, Maclay Commons and Market Square utilize the LIHTC Program.
