The Missoula Housing Authority owns and manages public housing units around the City of Missoula. Public housing units in Missoula include apartments, duplexes and single family homes that have one, two, three and more bedrooms.
How to apply :
In order to apply to live in public housing at Missoula Housing Authority (MHA) you must attend a mandatory orientation. These orientations are held every Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the Palace Apartments (149 W. Broadway) and Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. and Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at the MHA office. The MHA office is located at 1235 34th Street, Missoula, MT.The meetings begin promptly at these times. Anyone arriving late will be asked to return to another orientation. Orientations are on a drop-in basis. All heads of household are required to attend one of these sessions. Following this session, each applicant will meet individually with MHA staff to enter information in MHA’s computer system.
Unfortunately, the waiting list for public housing is 6 months to 3 years long, and MHA has no emergency housing or assistance.
For your application to be complete at the orientation, please bring these items with you:
- Picture identification for head of household. (if not, other forms of ID will be accepted); and
- Income information for all household members.
*The MHA application process is now paperless. MHA will not collect a paper application, nor make copies of any of these documents, but it is required to have the information with you.
